Tripartite Programme Wins Global Innovation Award

The Tripartite Programme has been honoured as the recipient of the International Insurance Society (IIS) Property & Casualty Innovator of the Year award. This prestigious recognition celebrates the programme’s exceptional efforts in driving innovation and sustainability in climate risk financing and insurance. After undergoing a rigorous and transparent application process, the projects under the Tripartite Programme have received significant co-funding from the InsuResilience Solutions Fund (ISF).

As a public-private partnership between Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Insurance Development Forum (IDF), and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Tripartite Programme works to provide risk management solutions that build resilience in climate-vulnerable countries. Through the development and implementation of innovative and sustainable climate risk insurance products, ISF’s contributions have been instrumental in advancing the Tripartite Programme’s vision of helping vulnerable communities better cope with the impacts of climate change and enhancing their capacity to adapt to natural hazards.

Dr. Annette Detken, Head of InsuResilience Solutions Fund (ISF), said:

This recognition reaffirms our commitment to support the development of innovative insurance solutions leveraging the rich expertise of the insurance industry in order to address the urgent needs of climate-vulnerable communities in the face of climate change. We extend our gratitude to our partners and stakeholders who have been involved in this achievement.

The Global Innovation Award acknowledges organizations that lead the way in developing solutions within insurance and risk management. The Tripartite Programme’s winning initiative represents a significant step forward in addressing the challenges posed by climate risk and natural hazards.
